A Java interpreter (Java Runtime Environment or JRE) is required to run client-side Java applets like the Chat tool and Multiple File Upload tool in Blackboard. It’s also needed to use Blackboard Collaborate. In order to function properly, this tool also needs to be reasonably up to date. This tutorial will show you how to install or update the JRE on a PC. It will also show you how to ensure that only one copy of the JRE is installed on your computer.
